Julie and ALL contributors and writers to the Iowa writers collaborative!
I subscribe to three of the writers with paid contribution: Ed Tibbett, Art Cullen and Dr. Chris Jones. It’s difficult to follow and support each new and or all writers financially on a retirement income with all that is looming out there.
The repeated invitation for „paid subscription“ maybe and is nearing frustration and disappointment for some of us just like it is for all those Democratic Party invites for payment BUT never an opportunity for verbal or written feedback!
The boat in the background is now either our rights being sold down river OR our best & brightest getting the HELL outta here. Too bad they're floating on such dirty water.
Well, I wish I’d thought of the “plow in his rear”. That is funny. And appropriate! Thanks for the shout-out, Richard. Hughes and Ray were LEADERS. And compassionate. History has treated them well. Hard to believe history will be kind to this current crop in power.
Thanks Richard. I subscribe to Harold Hughes' belief. When I travel across Iowa I often take 235 to admire the Iowa Capitol's glistening dome. Next time I will certainly give it the appropriate finger salute.
Excellent, Richard! What has Iowa become? In an overly long comment to Robert Leonard I railed against the Governor and the legislature. In sum, if the best and brightest have left--escaped--Iowa are we left with the worst and dimmest? If one considers the legislative Republicans, "Yes!"

A welcome return from Sh*T Richard Says. Thanks Richard for a funny, fitting interpretation of Dave’s piece.
Thank you, Richard. It breaks my heart when I think about who we used to be in Iowa and where we are now. What I do not understand is how a majority of people can go to the ballot box and continually vote for more of this kind of cruelty. Dave wrote an excellent column yesterday. So did Hannah Breckbill who is watching all of this from Palestine. https://open.substack.com/pub/humblehandsharvest/p/really-iowa?r=v3z0n&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

As always, wonderful, Richard!

I met Sen Hughes in his DC Senate office when I was 14! My mom, pulled strings he was the best!
