Great, Richard! FYI even as a hard core Dem, I’d have stood up for her in a heartbeat too.

Thank you, Richard and Julie. The two of you always do your research and Larry and I enjoy reading your posts!

The Bucksbaum Lecture Series at Drake is such a wonderful gift to our community.

I am so proud to be an Iowan! (Though I live in Florida, these days!) But you, Julie Gammack, are one of the reasons I am proud to shout out my port o’ call! And are the Bucksbaums! Friends and class mates since our old Merrill days, I can not think of a finer family who has done more for their own back yard!

I saw Liz Cheney here in Sarasota at a “Town Hall” lecture. The “Town Hall” lecture series is sponsored by our local Ringling College. The format sounds very much like these lectures sponsored by Drake through the Bucksbaum endowment. Thank you for sharing it here! And please keep going! Keep learning! And when in Washington D.C. take a trip to Ann Bucksbaum Friedman’s, Planet Word Museum! (I have yet to get there but hope to soon!)

Carol, too kind!

I’ll send you a link to a podcast I did with Ann B. Friedman. This Bucksbaum brother was her uncle. Philanthropic family!

If DJY becomes "incapacitated" before GOP Nomination Convention I wonder if Liz Cheney would declare her candidacy. Lots of areas I disagree with her, but at least the debate/dialogue might be rational and respectful.

Yes, I have her book and Yes, I admire her. Yes, I know some people from Wyoming who maybe Republicans. I wish they would put her back in. It is such a shame that she lost the election to a Trumper. It would have been great to see her.

So like you Richard. Always the tactician and wise reader of an audience — of one or hundreds. There’s a lot to like about Liz C., for me it’s her backbone and the willingness to do the right thing. -Rick
