Never crazy about career military people, or for that matter former TV personalities, but I'm getting the feeling this just might be an exception to my own rule. Someone that can address the issues with Iowa in mind would be something special for a change. I'm willing to see who gets the job to run and then make up my mind.
I missed the chance to vote for him in the primary because I didn't know enough about him. I won't miss supporting him going forward. Thank you for summing up all the reasons he should get our support.
Sounds like Franken should be everyone's choice and a shoo in. Great background and credentials. We need more candidates like him....not looking for fame or fortune but looking out for the good of the country and saving our democracy. He's got my vote!
I voted for Admiral Franken in the last primary. I found his ideas about how to give people a hand up and his proven ability to be a leader more than qualifying for the Senate. The argument against him? He had a big house in Virginia. That's a classic nose/face thing. The Admiral can bring fresh eyes and ideas to the table and if there was ever a time our state needed fresh eyes and fresh ideas it is in these sorry times. I don't know this state anymore. It is not the Iowa in which I grew up and raised my family.I want to find that place of forward looking thinking and compassion again.
