I think you should expand the naming category to include prosthetic body parts.

I named my Jeep Liberty "Tootle," but I am blank about what to name my steel gray Jeep Patriot.

We are glad you are back! You were missed in Cumming and, currently, in Kona. We have had cars named the Green Hornet, RedMan, Tank, Long n’ Low, but nothing compares to Luigi - perfect!!

Great story on the boat naming! My first car was a yellow Vega that I drove around NW iowa in 1974 trying to elect republicans 🙄. I referred to my car as the Yellow Submarine as the words to the song say, “Sky of Blue, Sea of Green in my Yellow Submarine.” While my efforts such as they were saved Richards’s job, Berkley Bedell was sent to Congress and that turned out to be a good thing! 😉🎉

Otherwise I referred to my next 3 vehicles as The Jeep, The Rabbit, The Shadow. Then we bought Steve’s parents Chrysler New Yorker 5th Ave, which I named Jesus Chrysler in Spanish pronunciation 😎. Here in DC we still have our 1994 Ford Ranger know simply as The Truck 🛻

But my Mom always called our cars growing up as Nelly Belle ❤️

If I ride it I name it. I have two graphite road bikes made by Scott, one blue and one white. They're Blue Boy and Tighty Whitey. Pretty boring. I also have a steel Raliegh road bike. It's named Maggie Walter. Work on that one; you'll get it.

The deal when I turned 16 was I got to share "The Clunker", an old, black 1949 Dodge, with our Dad....he got rides to and from work and I got to use it the rest of the time! And PS, I missed your column.....welcome back.

I had occasion to run into your friend Roxanne conlin Saturday night dancing. I went over and said hello and introduced myself and explained that I had graduated with you and was an acquaintance but not a actual close friend. She was very gracious.

Every self propelled piece of farm equipment I own has a name. Usually based on prior ownership except for Clifford my big red grain truck named for Clifford the big red dog.

Of course we name our cars! Currently we have Taronda the Honda, and Buck the Toyota Truck. Previously, Rhonda and Yolanda were Honda names. We have not used as sophisticated a naming structure as you and Richard, and will endeavor to do so with the next vehicle. Also, since we are not boaters, we might choose to name appliances and the lawn mower. Or perhaps the wheelbarrow? Hmmm, the last would have to be Fred or Wilma in honor of the Flintstones.
