Richard, have you and Julie toured the Surf in CL? Fun for good music memories. It’s 12 miles from my home, if you need a base. 😊

Wow, is that a beautiful article or what? Sad and happy memories from a wonderful music period. I was 12 years old when the crash occurred. And of course, it seems like yesterday as "they say".

Thanks for the memories Richard and Julie.

What a wonderful story, brings back memories of a legend. Steve is smiling down. We both wish we could be with you. You and Steve have the gift of conversation. One time when we were at Jimmy's restaurant in Des Moines for brunch our waitress, the daughter of the funeral home director in Okoboji, remembered the funeral of Buddy Holly when she was only a child. You can imagine Steve's response.

Dawn— Truth is I was wishing I could call Steve after my meeting with Ritchie’s sister. And I know he’d have liked the part about Waylon Jennings giving up his seat on the charter for the Big Bopper who was ailing. Doing the kind gesture saved Waylon’s life which in turn gave Steve and me lots of great music.
