On July 14, we will celebrate the first anniversary of the Iowa Writers’ Collaborative. If you are not receiving the weekly round-up of columns our members write, you may do so here (free).
We currently have 35 columns, including one for readers to write essays called Letters from Iowans. We have an audience of ‘influencers’ around the state, including legislators, community and business leaders, journalists, and former Iowans from around the country interested in Iowa. We created this platform for you if you have an informed opinion or idea for a policy discussion that is underrepresented in the public discourse or feel it needs to be amplified.
LETTERS FROM IOWANS SUBMISSION FORM
THANK YOU
As a thank you to those who support our work by being paid subscribers, an announcement will come soon about a real-time gathering. I want to say thank you for making it possible to provide scholarship assistance for emerging writers who want to attend the Okoboji Writers’ Retreat.
YOUR MONDAY ZOOM LUNCH LINK
Our Monday Zoom Lunch guest on July 10 is Suzanna de Baca. She writes a column called Dispatches from the Heartland and is a member of the Iowa Writers’ Collaborative, for which she wrote this bio:
Suzanna de Baca is an Iowa native, proud Latina, CEO of Business Publications Corp., board director, and author passionate about exploring change and transformation, inclusion, and life in the Midwest. She lives in Huxley, Iowa.
The IA Writer's Collaborative brings sense, humor and sanity to my life. Thank you & keep on writing!
Congratulations! I have been enjoying several of the writers. Many of the columns have provided information or perspectives I would not have encountered anywhere else. Keep going! We need this in Iowa.
