A searing memory I have from many election cycles in my decades on the planet is the days post-election when the only thing I could muster was to go outside and rake leaves.
For those who care deeply about politics, and are convinced we are right, the days after an election can be tough.
We are going to record our Iowa Down Ballot podcast this morning and post it this afternoon. I’m both dreading and looking forward to hearing what my colleagues have to say.
We will try to understand the inexplicable, but it’s going to take a while.
The Iowa Poll was such a shock - showing Harris winning here - I felt giddy and that it was a harbinger of what surely be a sweep.
I was wrong.
