What’s on my mind? The next Okoboji Writers’ Retreat (OWR).
OWR IV will be held September 22-25, 2024, in northwest Iowa’s premier lakes area. This will be the fourth year a bunch of folks from all over the country descend upon Okoboji during, arguably, the best time of year when summer tourists have gone home for the season, and the weather can still be ideal.
I’m taking over the column today to tell you what I learned from the results of a participant survey. Some of you have attended, and some might want to or know someone who would, so please share this widely.
As a result, in 2024, we’ll be adding additional speakers about memoir and also have new tracks on songwriting, screenwriting, writing reviews, purpose-driven writing, and children’s literature. These speakers are tops in their field. Plus, your favorite speakers will be returning.
I’ve been experimenting with the Canva design software and created ‘infographics’ based on survey results from the Okoboji Writers’ Retreat held in September. I’m not a graphic designer, as you will see below, but Canva makes this easy enough that I can put something together.
Tis the Season (almost)
We are entering the season of giving, so when you think of something that would be a gift that keeps on giving, consider sending a loved one to the Okoboji Writers’ Retreat.
