I've started and stopped this column a dozen times. I desperately want you to watch something now showing on Hulu, but I can't find the words to say why Derek Delgaudio’s ‘In & Of Itself’ is so compelling.
I checked Twitter to see what others are saying. Below is a compilation of recent Tweets.
What I will say is that I woke up at 2:30 am thinking about it. I will watch it again today. And other times in the future. I am in awe of the genius it took to turn a stage play into video magic.
It's not something you watch. It's something you experience.
In keeping with the Gestalt of the show, and to avoid spoiling the content for others, here are Tweets posted by fellow viewers:
It might just be because I miss live performance so damn much, but Derek DelGaudio's "In And Of Itself" on Hulu had me emotional 15 minutes in. A beautiful theatrical display, brilliant performance. (and some dope magic as a treat!)
I think ‘In & Of Itself’ healed something inside me. Thank you,
You made me a little more whole tonight.
This Sunday evening is a good one to watch the remarkable ‘IN & OF ITSELF’ on Hulu, unless you're one of those people who doesn't like things that are amazing and surprising and poignant.
Feel good about humanity for 90 minutes, and then we'll meet back here to discuss. Trust me.
I feel lighter, I cried, and I want to hug the people I love so desperately. Please go watch it. It's on Hulu right now.
Watching "In and Of Itself" on Hulu is an experience. There is a little magic, a little mentalist, a little storytelling. It's hard to describe. By the end, I could barely see thru the tears in my eyes. It’s beautiful.
I laughed. I cried. And, oh, it’s so much better than ‘Cats’!
I would do anything to watch "In & Of Itself" on Hulu for the first time …please slight of hand it out my memory or something so I can experience it again
Someone go watch "In & Of Itself" and explain to me what the actual hell I just absorbed because I feel different.
As somebody who hasn't had the proper ability to cry in months due to an entire pharmacy of antidepressants and mood stabilizers, let me tell you that I SOBBED at "In & Of Itself" on Hulu
Just hit play. Don't lookup *anything* about it.
I learned of this gem from a friend, and this column writing friend of yours is passing it on to you.
You’re welcome.
You’ll need a HULU subscription. Non-subscribers can sign up for the free trial and explore the service.
If you watch it - no, when you watch it - let me know.
Sh*t Richard says: You know tonight is the Super Bowl, right?
Will I have enough room to save all of these delectable essays on my phone? I plan to and simply love them. Can’t wait for the next one or two.....from either of you. Keep them coming. Johnnie
Good; yes, look forward to discussing because I'm sure I didn't really "get it". It needs 'splaining to me.
