Today’s Zoom link with John Dinges, former Iowan, and author.
Are we about to lose our democracy? John Dinges sees all the warning signs.
Our Monday Zoom lunch guest, starting at noon central time, is an American journalist, author, and academic known for his investigative reporting on Latin America. He was a foreign correspondent for The Washington Post and Time Magazine, covering major political events in Chile and other parts of South America during the 1970s and 1980s.
Dinges is also known for his books on Latin American history, human rights, and U.S. foreign policy, including The Condor Years: How Pinochet and His Allies Brought Terrorism to Three Continents, which examines Operation Condor, a covert network of South American dictatorships that coordinated political repression across borders.
He later became a professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and served as the managing editor of NPR News.
You do not have to be a paid subscriber to join the call (although we sure appreciate those who do), we do make it available only to subscribers.
Thanks.
Join us starting at noon central time.

Did you see yesterday's impressive roundup of columns?
Thank you so much for bringing John Dingis to the call yesterday. I learned so much and I'm fired up to stand up against these atrocities. I did a little research and found a helpful app called 5Calls. You can plug in your zip code and find contacts of your representatives. It also has scripts based on your concern which is helpful. Let's make our voices heard!
Thanks for inviting Mr. Dinges!
