Class on Launching a Successful Substack Column
Would you like to try your hand writing essays through this platform, Substack?
and I will be co-facilitating a class through Story Summit that will help you launch your own column. Check it out:Early Bird Registration for Okoboji Writers’ and Songwriters’ Retreat
If you would like to be kept up to date about the agenda and speakers for the Okoboji Writers’ and Songwriters’ Retreat, I’ve created a separate Substack column for that purpose.
Also, now is the time to enroll if you want to save $100 on the enrollment fee. The Early Bird discount ends soon.
Come. Learn how some are making money writing (there are a lot of ways to do so, including here on Substack). Or getting started on a new project.
Iowa Writers’ Collaborative
I am delighted to be a founding member of the Iowa Writers’ Collaborative, where we link readers to writers who share an interest in the state.
In the Sunday Roundup of columns, there was a lot of commentary about Joni Ernst brushing off a constituent who questioned her support of recent legislation that will defund countless programs Iowans rely on for health care. The audience member complained that Iowans will die, to which Ernst responded:
“We’re all going to die.”
Others commented on the nationalization of a school voucher program to benefit private schools, and other ramifications of the bill.
There is other terrific commentary, equally compelling, offered by some of Iowa’s best thought-leaders.
