A big announcement for Rekha Basu
...and Julie Gammack
Rekha Basu and Julie Gammack will soon launch a podcast titled:
What the hell happened to Iowa?
Here’s another effing learning curve and growth opportunity. I’ve downloaded Adobe’s Audition software, and Bob Leonard has given me a tutorial over a Zoom call on how to edit audio. Substack offers podcast hosting capability, and Todd Dorman and Zack Kucharski of the Cedar Rapids Gazette are enthused about working with us on this new adventure.
Rekha and I can’t wait to hit the road and ask this question of others.
If you do not already subscribe to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, I highly recommend you check it out. The Green Gazette's digital app is user-friendly, and as an employee-owned news organization, they represent a model I embrace.
We are all trying to figure out what the hell happened to Iowa.
Today marks the second anniversary of this Potluck column. I’m not abandoning the Potluck. The podcast is additive, not instead of the column, but I think you’ll agree that the two of us are going to kick our heels a bit as we sally forth on this new path. Fingers crossed, we can make it entertaining and informative. At this point, since it will be primarily audio, we won’t put it in the Iowa Collaborative Roundup, although I’ll link to it in my weekly Potluck column.
Come along for the ride. Here’s our introduction. Subscribe to get the first podcast when it is launched.
Let us know what you think. Be patient as we figure out how to do this and get the sound levels right. I don’t doubt there might be a rough start, but everyone has to be a beginner on the road to mastery. Hang in there with us.
What a grand collaboration! Congratulations! This is an important topic to discuss. In fact, I would be interested What happened to Iowa?
