Richard and I had the real pleasure of living in the charming town of Annapolis, MD in the early 2000s. If you haven’t visited Maryland’s capital city, just 35 miles from Washington, D.C., consider visiting this historic, waterfront treasure.
We made life-long friends there, including our guest today. The link to our Zoom conversation, starting at noon central time, is below.
Kevin Brooks is the lead ‘boy’ of Them Eastport Oyster Boys, an area band that creates songs about their beloved bay life. They appear at just about every major function where music is called for and often appear aboard cruise ships visiting the Chesapeake waters.
So, why am I having him on an Iowa Potluck Zoom meeting?
Quite simply because Richard and I love Kevin, his music, his wit, and his conversation, and thought you might have fun ‘meeting’ him. Also, we invited Kevin to teach songwriting this year at the Okoboji Writers’ Retreat, so for those of you coming in September, you’ll get a sneak peek.
These Zoom calls/podcasts are casual, at-home-style conversations and you’re welcome to join in.
Here’s your Zoom link for the call today, starting at noon central time:
