Access to public information is foundational to holding governments accountable.
Is it harder to find this information today? If so, why?
Does it matter? What does it cost a society not to have access to public information?
Randy Evans is the executive director of the Iowa Freedom of Information Council and will be our guest today at noon central time via Zoom. He was a reporter and editor at The Des Moines Register for 40 years. In his current role as executive director of the nonprofit organization formed to ensure taxpayers have access to information about public records, he regularly writes about these issues. His work has been featured in Iowa Capital Dispatch, The Register, and other media outlets.

Take the opportunity to join folks who, like you, have stories to tell and need a nudge to tell them.
In addition to workshops on how to track down public information, the range of topics is wide, with several for all interests and skill levels.
